ZZ Imagem e Som is an audiovisual production, music production, and exhibition design company based in São Paulo-SP, formed by siblings Bruno and Monica Palazzo, and Maya Guizzo.
Bruno Palazzo is a visual artist trained at ECA/USP and a technician in acoustics and audio engineering from Omid Academia. Since the early 2000s, he has worked on film soundtracks, sound installations, thematic exhibitions, and advertising, in addition to his work as a music producer for records. He is a member of the band Cão. He has composed original music and/or sound design for the feature films "José e Pilar" (2011), "Rio Cigano" (2013), "Petit A" (2011), and for the short films "Dilema" (in 360° cinema, never before released), "Cores e Botas" (2010), the trilogy "1718, 1972 e 2009" (2010), "A mula teimosa e o controle remoto" (2010), and "Páginas de Menina" (2008). Recently, he received the Candango award for best sound editing for the feature film "A invenção do outro" (2022).
Maya Guizzo is a screenwriter, teacher, and researcher. She teaches at the International Film Academy, SENAC, and IED (Istituto Europeo di Design), holds a master's degree in Visual Poetics, and is a member of the research group Depois do Fim da Arte (https://depoisdofimdaarte.org/) linked to the Postgraduate Program in Visual Poetics at ECA-USP. She wrote the screenplays for the short films "Próxima" (2017), directed by Luisa Campos, and "Mãe do Ouro" (2017), directed by Monica Palazzo, for which she also served as assistant director. In the feature films "O caso Dora" (2016) and "Antigonada" (2021), both directed by Dora Longo Bahia, she served as assistant director, in addition to directing the experimental short films "Exit" (2011/2020), "Subway" (2010/2020) and "Saligna" (2015/2020) as part of her master's research. Monica Palazzo is an award-winning art director for film and television series, a professor at the International Film Academy, Fine Arts and SENAC, and has also directed short films and created scenographic exhibitions. He won awards for art direction at the Brasília Film Festival 2015, the Bagé Border Film Festival 2015, CinePE 2006 and 2008, and the Miami Brazilian Film Festival 2011, FAM 2014. He has participated in film festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, Newfest, Outfest, Frameline, Kinoforum, Tiradentes, São Paulo International Film Festival, Rio Film Festival, Olhar de Cinema, among others. He was a Berlinale Talent in 2007, and in 2021, he received the prestigious ABC designation. Among her works are the art direction for the feature films "Meu casulo de drywall" (2023), "Smoke Master" (2022), "Eu te levo" (2016), "Para minha amada morta" (2015), "Rio Cigano" (2013), "Cores" (2012). In TV, the series "Não foi minha culpa" (2022), "Os ausentes" (2021), "Rotas do Ódio" (2018-2020), "O zoo da Zu" (2016), among others.
She is currently a doctoral candidate in Visual Poetics at ECA/USP, where she is developing research on art direction, immersive 360° cinema, and Black feminism.
